Responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy in order to maximize efficiency and productivity across Business Unit Americas division. Partner with Managing Directors of each business and their supply chain teams to coordinate and drive all aspects of the supply chain including planning/strategy, sourcing, demand planning, warehousing and transportation. Position will lead the organization through improved leadership and decision making to make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
This position is new to the organization and is charged with bringing together resources across multiple entities to work as a unified supply chain organization. The head of supply chain must be skilled at managing upward and outward to drive transformation and best practice adoption across organizations, combining technical expertise with strong understanding of Client business and markets.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Plan, communicate and implement the BU Americas supply chain roadmap and strategy in order to improve service, quality, employee efficiency, equipment performance and interdepartmental communication related to Client supply chain business processes.
Develop and manage a new organization, guiding funding and resourcing. Drive alignment with direct-reporting organization and corollary development in other parts of the business.
Identify customer and channel priorities, strategies and assumptions to drive differentiated service and drive desired behavior. Create baseline forecasting model combined with project demand to arrive at a formal plan with consensus and transparency.
Develop production and procurement plans over time to satisfy demand and inventory deployment needs while assuring capacity and material availability. Identify and resolve capacity needs.
Create an S&OP process with a monthly cross-functional review, alignment and decision making to optimize the business outcomes of evolving needs and issues.
Create detailed material requirements planning and procurement processes driven by the supply plan (master schedule) and analytically-based raw material inventory and purchasing strategies.
Oversee the responsive positioning and restocking of inventory within the post-manufacturing network to support planned order fulfillment while making efficient use of logistics and transportation resources.
Improve the responsiveness and reliability of committed ship dates for incoming sales orders, leveraging available inventory, planned supply, and service and lead time objectives.
Implement supply chain analytics to drive periodic refresh of product ABC/XYZ classification to assign associated service level targets, inventory targets by location, and manufacturing characteristics.
Optimize manufacturing resources while executing cost reductions and inventory controls. Identify production process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner.
Develop policies and metrics to drive an effective supply chain organization
Develop a supply chain technology architecture and rollout plan to support the supply chain roadmap.
Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or comparable study. MBA/Masters level degree and APICS/ELSS certifications are desirable.
Ten (10) years’ experience in supply chain, operations management, purchasing, logistics, or planning with exposure to financial and cost accounting.
Fluent in supply chain analytics and data-driven inventory, service, and operations strategies.
Global awareness, good business ethics, and an understanding of legal contracts.
Very strong communication, effective presentation, change management, and multicultural understanding. Ability to manage and influence outside of formal organizational lines and reporting structures.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with good time management skills.
Proactive personality to be an active partner to general management. Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success.
Proficiency in IT skills (excel, powerpoint, SAP or other ERP systems). Specific knowledge of/familiarity with demand, supply, and inventory planning tools and capabilities. Knowledge of factory scheduling and MES tools is desirable.
Ability to maintain effective relationships with various personalities.
