Position Summary:
The Demand Planner is responsible for demand analysis and forecasting for Client’s portfolio of brands. The Demand Planner leverages advanced planning software to create and maintain forecasts for brands by analyzing information gathered through collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and other sources (e.g., syndicated consumer data). This person plays a critical role in the monthly S&OP process and will be an integration point into the Sales and Marketing organization.
Position Responsibilities:
Focuses on learning the portfolio by partnering with Sales, Brand Managers, Supply Manager, etc.
Responsible for baseline forecasts in a high SKU count and predominantly private label portfolio.
Lead/facilitate collaboration planning with internal and external customers and layer in their inputs into baseline forecasts. Ensure reasonableness of forecast inputs.
Provides forecast inputs at both consensus and lower levels, as necessary, to ensure accuracy at all levels down to SKU/Customer/Location/Month.
Provide demand planning perspective to facilitate execution of new product launches, promotions or service challenges
Investigate effectiveness of collaborative inputs using forecast value add analysis
Track and report key performance indicators like Accuracy, Bias and significant shipments to forecast variances.
Establish underlying assumptions in demand plan to highlight risks and opportunities.
Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings
Participate in training and process improvements projects

Qualifications and Requirements:
B.S degree in Supply Chain, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or related field
3 to 5 years of previous experience in forecasting, preferably within food industry or other CPG-related companies
Knowledge of SAP/APO, Logility, Oracle Demand Planning or other planning software. Experience with SAP APO preferred.
Experience with S&OP process, customer planning and/or supply planning
Demonstrated use of productivity/continuous improvement methodology in previous positions
Good understanding of P&L and supply chain cost structure
Excellent communication and executive reporting/presentation skills.
Demonstrated leadership in forecasting, analytics, and problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project team and efficiently prioritizing multiple requests
Experience in training and mentoring a small team
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Supply Chain, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or related field.
