The Director, Consulting is a leader and prime contributor in the overall planning department, whose primary responsibility will be focused on leading and growing our Kinaxis business including managing of a team of Kinaxis consultants. This is a key senior role and has responsibilities for growing the business as well as managing staff and overseeing and participating in consulting work.
It is expected that the Director of the Kinaxis practice will manage the development and retention of staff, build a knowledge base and implementation tools to standardize and deliver consulting services, act as a point of escalation for issues relating to the specific needs of consulting employees including mentorship, career planning and growth, and support for issues that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of employee delivery. The Director, Consulting also provides Sales support, client delivery and project account management activities for projects services by Spinnaker SCA consulting. Identifies, qualifies, and supports the sales efforts for sales related opportunities. Ensure client satisfaction and scope management for projects already underway. This position provides clients with Consulting related business direction to facilitate the adoption of an optimized business process and/or the implementation of a tool support the execution of that process. The percentage spent on each of the above duties will vary by position.
Defines, owns, and implements the strategy for our Kinaxis practice and Spinnaker SCA relationship with Kinaxis
Develops a differentiated implementation approach and build and maintains standardized delivery implementation templates
Proactively builds Thought leadership through white paper development or Webinars
Takes part in industry related conferences as a participant, speaker, or round table member in order to gain specific industry insight or establish credibility to improve Spinnaker SCA brand awareness
Maintenance of delivery repository for new and existing work product and practice aides
Establishes service offerings (product definition)
Support the determination of organizational direction based upon industry analysis and strategic corporate direction
Define and manage employee development including goals and career roadmaps
Provide day to day to support to manage user activities and escalations
Provide employee mentoring to achieve both short term improvements and long-term goals
Engender and actively plan and participate in employee community building activities
Drive and own the recruiting interviewing and on-boarding process for new W2 and 1099 employees
Sales and Account Management
Create leads and opportunities for services opportunities within the Spinnaker SCA Consulting target market
Utilize the Spinnaker SCA opportunity management tool to retain, measure, and forecast upcoming sales opportunities
Support the development of sales and resource related forecasts and pipelines derived from probability weighted sales opportunities
Lead the nurturing and maturing of client and prospect relationships
Lead actual sales interactions with perspective demos via negotiations and/or service-related demonstrations
Develop client contracts including: Service Proposals, Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and Incremental project change requests
Support the development of marketing campaigns and collateral
Provide oversight for key Spinnaker SCA clients
Conduct project tracking and client management meetings for active clients within your purview to ensure on-time delivery, resource availability, and budget and margin achievement
Serve as an escalation point for all significant client issues
Approve timecards, expenses, and invoices for active client engagements
Act in the capacity of a trusted adviser in the delivery of Services for an existing Spinnaker SCA clients within one of the key delivery areas:Management Consulting Services (strategy development and business process improvement)
Functional Application Implementation and Support Services
Technical Chain Application Implementation and Support Services
Serve as a subject matter expert of business processes including Advanced planning, Sourcing and Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics and Warehousing
Support the implementation technology solutions and industries and support client service delivery in these areas across the firm
Provide industry specific best practice implementation support for client implementations in the Consumer Products, Retail, Energy, Oil & Gas, High Tech & Semiconductor, Industrial Manufacturing, Medical & Pharmaceutical, and Telecommunications industry segments
Conduct client process gap and roadmap assessment services
Experience & Skills / Qualifications
10+ years of experience in management services
Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in implementation of different Kinaxis RapidResponse modules, including Supply Planning, Forecasting and Demand Planning, ATP, Aggregate Supply Planning, Capacity Planning, Attribute Based Planning, Sales & Operations Planning
8+ years of Technology solutions implementation experience (Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, JDA, 09,, SAP, Oracle, etc.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production planning, demand management industry role and/or business software consulting role.
Designing solutions in RapidResponse
Hands on experience on Demand Planning, Statistical Forecasting, Consumption based planning, Re-order point planning, MRP, MPS, Long term Planning, Capacity planning and Production scheduling, Batch Management, Serial number management with discrete and Process industry.
Hands on experience on Supply Chain Planning Master Data Maintenance i.e., Material Master, BOM, Work center, Routings, Vendor Master, Customer Master, Info records, source list, Schedule agreements, contracts etc.
Knowledge and experience of integration of Planning function with Mfg., Quality, Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, Sourcing, Logistics and Costing functions.
A passion for working in customer facing roles and you have great interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
